We believe it is possible to end unsheltered homelessness in San Francisco. This isn't just a dream - we have a proven plan that will work with buy-in from the city and the community. If you are ready to make unsheltered homelessness a thing of the past, click the button below!
One in three office buildings in San Francisco is completely empty. We have identified several buildings with enough space to end unsheltered homelessness. Our current target is the empty 800k sq ft. Twitter building
Step Two: Set Up the Furniture
Brownstone's sleeping pods are key to sheltering more people in existing space without sacrificing privacy and comfort. By requiring less space, this approach significantly decreases the cost per person sheltered.
Step Three: Partner with Operators
We will need to contract with nonprofits to provide food, mental health, and other essential services to the people at the shelter. There are plenty of operators already providing these services.
Step Four: Connect People to Shelter
Once the space and operators are in place, the city services and police will need to route unsheltered individuals to the shelter. Sleeping on the street shouldn't be an option with thousands of available shelter beds.
How It Will Look
A shelter is more than just beds. We envision bright common spaces for everyone to enjoy.
